The historical drama chronicling the rise of Thomas Cromwell is finally coming to our screens!

“Wolf Hall”, based on the award-winning novels by Hilary Mantel, charts the rise of the son of a humble blacksmith who became King Henry VIII’s chief minister, by navigating the corridors of power in the Tudor court.

The lawyer Thomas Cromwell stands quietly in the shadows at Cardinal Wolsey’s side, watching, listening and waiting. He’s a man who feeds on information and yet he remains unreadable as he moves in circles where his working class origins are despised…

But he’s also a man driven by the horrors of a bloody childhood at the hands of a brutal father. Earache’s talented Samuel Bottomley plays Cromwell as a boy, in scenes that are sure to be hard hitting and emotional.

“Wolf Hall” is going to be a must watch for the next six weeks, don’t miss it when it starts on Wednesday at 9pm on BBC2.
