If you are after a dose of Felicity Montagu this Christmas then you are in luck! The talented comedienne will be in two of the most highly anticipated comedy dramas over the festive season, E.F. Benson’s “Mapp and Lucia” and David Walliams’ “The Boy in the Dress”.

“Mapp And Lucia” celebrates the snobberies and pretensions of small-town life. It is the summer of 1930 and Lucia decides to take a holiday in the charming historic town of Tilling.  Miss Elizabeth Mapp, the town’s resident schemer and woman of great self-importance, has bitten off more than she can chew as Lucia is the resident queen of her home town; vain, selfish, imperious and, in short, a glorious snob. Recently widowed, she sees Tilling as the perfect place to end her grieving and reintegrate herself into society…

Felicity joins the battle as Godiva ‘Diva’ Plaistow, resident of Tilling and friend to Elizabeth Mapp. Earache’s Katy Brand also stars as Hermione Pillson.

“The Boy in the Dress”  is a comedy drama about schoolboy Dennis, a cross-dressing 12 year old. Dennis feels at odd with the world after his mother leaves home but a fashion magazine opens a new window for him and allows him to express himself. Felicity stars at school teacher Miss Price and also sees Earache’s Sonny Ashbourne Serkis as Gareth.

“Mapp and Lucia” can be enjoyed over 3 consecutive nights on BBC One, starting on Monday 29th and “The Boy in the Dress is on Boxing Day at 6:55pm, also on BBC One.
