Meet the men and women of East Yorkshire Motor Services as they try to keep Yorkshire moving….

Headed by Peter, a self-confessed bus enthusiast, the company is known locally as one big family comprising of 800 staff. This loyal team has been serving the town of Hull and surrounding villages since 1926.

Delivering 63,000 passenger trips every day and keeping 260 buses on the road can be a bumpy ride. At its base in Hull, the firm faces driver shortages, constant road works, a union dispute, a heat wave and an air conditioning malfunction that causes meltdown in the control room!

In Scarborough, home to East Yorkshire’s second biggest depot, East Yorkshire run open-top bus tours that ferry tourists along the seafront, but supervisor Paul and his team face some stiff competition…
